The scale-up ecosystem map brings together information about all the assets that exist in the region of West of England, or that are available to businesses in the West of England. These assets are organised according to the challenge areas that have been identified by the ScaleUp Institute and are specific to scale-up businesses.
This map is designed with three potential audiences in mind:
If you would like to work with us to develop this further, please get in touch, my details are below.
The assets on this map will be developed and added to over the next 6 months. If you have an asset that you’d like to add to the map, please complete this short google form.
We hope to add a second layer of data to pinpoint the scale-up businesses themselves – this will come in time when the data is available. If you’d like to contribute your list of scale-up business data to this map, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The scale-up ecosystem map was created in partnership with http://cluster-map.com/ for more information, email Briony.
A reminder – what is a scale-up business?
The OECD describes a scale-up businesses as:
“A scale-up is an enterprise with average annualised growth in employees or turnover greater than 20% per annum over a three-year period, and with more than 10 employees at the beginning of the observation period.”
However, we are also interested to support businesses who are on the journey to meet this definition and have perhaps met the 20% growth metric for one or two years, not yet three. We are also keen to support those businesses who are growing fast but are not formally identified as ‘scale-up’ due to the lack of data available on turnover and employee numbers.
